About Carson and Associates

Chip is a seasoned AV rated lawyer with 20 years of experience litigating and trying cases in Georgia state and federal courts.  Chip earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University, graduating with honors in 1988.  Chip worked in the construction industry, in the areas of design development and construction administration, before attending law school.  Chip graduated from the College of Law at Georgia State University in 1993 and started in private legal practice at one of Atlanta’s oldest firms, Nall & Miller, LLP, being made partner in 2001.  In 2009, Chip started Carson & Associates, which is listed in Martindale Hubbell’s Register of Preeminent Lawyers.   

Chip has litigated and tried large loss cases in the areas of personal injury, products liability, negligent construction and medical malpractice.  Chip has tried over 50 cases in Georgia federal and state courts.  Chip is also registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and has extensive experience mediating and resolving cases as a lawyer representing  parties at mediation. Stemming from his background in architecture and construction, Chip has extensive experience interpreting construction contracts and litigating construction related issues.  Through his medical malpractice and personal injury cases, Chip has extensive experience litigating and trying medical/personal injury issues.  Through his product liability cases, Chip has extensive experience litigating and trying fire cause and origin issues as well as electrical design and fire causation issues.

Carson & Associates is a client centered, results driven practice.  Our focus is on what the client needs and the most effective and efficient way to achieve that result.   Our approach to litigation and trial is to determine the client’s needs to find the most effective way to meet those needs.  We push our cases to trial and resolution as quickly as possible and rely on the clients’ rights to jury trial as a means to fair and consistent results and as leverage to settlement and resolution.

Chip is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.  Chip has two sons who play travel baseball and golf and enjoy wake boarding at Lake Lanier.  Chip is an avid golfer and enjoys wake boarding as well.
